Comments Thread For: Khan's Trainer Expects Mayweather To Remain Retired

British star Amir Khan believes Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) will return next year to pursue his 50th victory.

Khan has been chasing Mayweather since 2013, but the fight never came together.

On September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather retired after winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Andre Berto.

As of right now, I think Floyd is serious about remaining retired. He doesn't love boxing like he used to and has made plenty of money so there is little to no incentive to return to the ring. The thing about guys like Floyd is that they get bored easily. If he can't find a way to keep his mind occupied long enough he probably will return.

History tells us , staying retired as a boxer is one of the biggest fights most have !

Virgil Hunter has a good point. So if he comes back and get 50, people will criticize like they always do. Excuses will be made and he will be insulted. Stay retired Floyd. You made tons of money and left the sport on your own terms. No reason to come back. Let the up and comers take over.

It feels like Khan himself is in a state of semi-retirement at this point.

Khan did scare Floyd into retirement so as long as Khan's at welterweight for a while there's no chance Floyd comes out of hiding anytime soon, unless he decides to shamelessly duck Khan in open view for the 5th time .

Typical Khan fanboy. Take something that has nothing to do with Khan and making all about Khan. It's not Floyd's fault Khan wasn't hungry. For 3 years Khan was on the verge of a Floyd fight, and he didn't have the balls to face anybody creditable. Khans a joke.

Duh. Khan already beat the guy that Floyd chose to fight instead of Khan when there were only 2 options on the table - Khan or Maidana - and after Khan won Floyd's official poll too. Floyds ducking of Khan was the most public and undeniable duck in boxing history.

Typical floydette just making up silly excuses which make no sense and are entirely contradictory in nature.

Stop making excuses for that ducking @ss b*tch, he has been continuously ducking Khan for years now and it's partly because people like you and other floyd fanboys welcome his ducking with open arms. You guys know that Khan might beat Floyd easy at this point. Floyd is past prime now, he nearly got handled by a past prime Maidana (while Khan beat a prime Maidana fairly easy) but we'll never find out because Floyd has been thoroughly scared into retirement and you fanboys have facilitated his escape.
