Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas - Following his knockout loss to WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (33-1-1, 13KOs), former lightweight world champion Brandon Rios (33-3-1, 24KOs) announced his retirement from boxing.

Rios, who wasn't in the best shape, went down in the ninth round from a hard shot to the body and the fight was practically over from there.

Using that term official a little too loosely. He'll probably be back like every retired fighter. He's still young

Rios was one of my favorite active fighters along with Danny Garcia & Lara

If this is a actual retirement, wish him the best

I'll give it 16 months until his wife divorces him and take his kids in custody until he comes back and fights Mike Alvarado for the 4th time.

Doesn't really have much of a choice. Its clear he can't make it down to 147 anymore and he has no business at a higher weight.
Was never a fan of the guy. He was killing himself to make lower weights were his power mattered and got a few gifts as well.
He was basically a more limited and smaller version of Margacheato.
