Comments Thread For: WBC Orders Tournaments For Floyd Mayweather's Belts

Boxing needs this in the worst way and it needs to be all fighters who are available within the top ten, regardless of promoters and network. There shouldn't be nothing to negotiate either. The winner of each fight gets a certain guaranteed amount and the loser gets a certain guaranteed amount. Also, this tournament should not drag on for 3 years. Have two of the fights on the same card or within a week of each other. And it should be fighters that are young and in their prime. Fighters in their 30's shouldn't be considered as the expectation would not be for them to be the face of boxing for years to come.

Watch this turn into a boxing politic parade. Hands down this tournament should be optional to the top 6 fighters in the division, with everyone who doesn't want to partake forfeiting their spot to the next guy up the rung until we get a solid six opponents sans the promoter bullshhh.

Manny Pacquiao was removed from the WBC Rankings due to medical reasons. Now that Pacquiao has been cleared to fight, it is expected that Pacquiao will replace Robert Garcia at Number 4 in the Welterweight Rankings.
WBC Rankings would therefore be
1. Amir Khan
2. Danny Garcia
3. Shawn Porter
4. Manny Pacquiao
5. Robert Garcia

A tournament...why not just get 1 & 2 in the ring in each divisions? A tournament is just gonna keep the title vacant for 6mos to a year depending on how big it is (assume 4 ppl, but I remember them talking about a 8man tournament awhile back so who knows).
4man tournament @ 147 looks fun & 100% doable since their all Haymon guys.
1. Amir Khan vs 4. Robert Guerrero
2. Danny Garcia vs 3. Shawn Porter
4man tournament @ 154 looks less fun, but very doable again cuz 3 outta 4 are Haymon guys
1. Jermell Charlo vs 4. Anthony Mundine
2. John Jackson vs 3. Vanes Martirosyan
