never understood why some fans are so opposed to proving your dominance in your proper division and then maintaining that dominance for as long as possible.

whatever weight GGG can make without killing himself, that's where he should be fighting. if that's middleweight, he should stay there until he can't make the weight without killing himself.

if he can manage to accumulate and maintain all four world titles, even better. stay there as long as possible and make the world go through him.

Nobody is opposed to that. What we are opposed to is making claims you'll fight anyone from 154-168, attempt to make fights at 168, and then run away scared when someone at 168 actually calls your bluff.

After that, he might decide move up to 168. It is frustrating for most fans: people who don't do anything creative or outstanding with their own lives, to wait for somebody else to fulfill their longtime stated goals before jumping ahead to future goals. But people who actually achieve things stay focused on the immediate next goal. One goal at a time.

Most people don't know this, because they don't DO anything themselves.

THIS. It all comes back to people wanting to see Ward vs. GGG. He is getting fights at 160. They might not be interesting (i.e. Monroe, Johnson), but it's not like SMW is filled with options. He'll only be able to choose from Ward and Ramirez right now. MW makes more sense at the moment.

This, a 1000 times this. After MW, Golovkin has only two good, make-able fights left in his career - Kovalev and Ward. There's no one else.

How is Ward a "money fight" even if he was at 168?
GGG had a big money fight at 168, even signed the contract but Chavez Jr chose to run the other way.
