Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Jabs Eubank Jr., Talks Jones-Maccarinelli

It will be an intriguing night in Moscow on December 12 when Enzo Maccarinelli meets Roy Jones Jr in a clash of two former World Champions at the VTB Ice Palace, televised exclusively live in the UK on BoxNation.

Maccarinelli aims to grab a high profile scalp, by defeating Jones, a former four time and three weight-division World champion.

Jones, a man formerly acknowledged by many as the pound for pound number one fighter in the world, bizarrely became a Russian citizen this week after being presented with a passport by President Vladimir *****, with whom he has become bosom pals.

I imagine he had a grin like The Joker when typing out the anti-Eurbank/pro-Saunders stuff at the end.

That Jeter fight was cringe worthy and completely pointless. O sullivan got 120 - 108'ed by Saunders so thats another backwards step.

Let's face it, no-one really cares about the Saunders-Lee fight. It's been postponed twice and it was never that mouthwatering a fight to begin with. This is borne out by the fact that it's struggled to shift tickets since it was first announced. Now, in an attempt to bolster the live gate, Warren has had to promise that he'll put Liam Smith (a decent ticket seller) and Terry Flanagan (who's riding a wave since he blasted out Magdaleno) on the undercard. This is not in keeping with Warren's usual MO, which is to stuff the undercards full of no-hopers (Bradley Skeete, Georgie Kean, etc) and basically sell an event on the basis of the headline bout. In contrast, Eubank-Spike is a truly exciting prospect, a grudge match two years in the making and a good clash of styles. It should be a better fight than Eubank-Saunders, as both guys are known for trading in the centre of the ring.

Saunders is a fairly boring fighter, a jab-and-run type fighter. Hopefully Andy Lee catches him and knocks him out.

jetter fight was just another quigg type fight tbh, altleast gallagher has been made to put smith with fielding, if he had his way he'd have tune ups until a soft vacant title against a thompson type of character was available.

Jeter should not have been in the same ring but the difference with the spike o'sullivan fight is that spike has a big punchers chance is very durable and will test more than Eubanks chin ....don't write him off , Eubank will have to be on top form !

I agree, this fight will tell us more about Eubanks than the BJS one IMO.

Saunders schooled Eubanks for half the fight until his conditioning let him down and he had to hold on and use his experience to tie Eubanks up.

O'Sullivan will trade and look for Eubank, he has some skill as well.
