Comments Thread For: Lemieux: Will Golovkin's Chin Withstand My Onslaught?

Even if he boasted the necessary skill set to put on a clinic, David Lemieux has no intention of allowing a boxing match to break out on a night where most are coming to see a fight.

It’s the very threat of intense in-ring violence that has aroused public interest surrounding his October 17 middleweight title unification match with Gennady Golovkin. Their bout headlines at a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York City, with HBO Pay-Per-View to air live (Saturday, $49.95 SRP).

I've got no reason to believe it wouldn't. The better question is "Would your chin be able to withstand his onslaught?"

I wouldn't be surprised if Lemieux has just been training for 5 non-stop fire rounds with no contingency plan. Personally think that is his only realistic route to victory.

will golovkin's chin hold up? most probably...what's out of the question though is Lemieux's chin will not be able to withstand golovkin's power.

Good question Lem. GGG is there to be hit at times and Lem will test that chin but the reality is, GGG is a better boxer, as better footwork and has fought more accomplished foes than Lem, so he knows what the world level is all about. IMO, GGG is going to test Lem's weak china.

Lemiux's game has changed and he have learned a lot sice his losses, but one thing that I have notice is that he doesn't know how to react to punishment, no matter what he has improve, he hasn't been able to improve that.

That will the key factor in this fight, in my opinion.

his chin, may o may not hold up.

If Golovkin hits the deck will he get up? He's never been put in a position where he has to overcome. I think he will get up. Lemieux has the power to put him down I think. Should be a decent fight
