Wilder's team is trying everything they can to avoid a fight with Povetkin. I hope the WBC doesn't allow them to get away with this crap again. They should force him to fight Povetkin next or vacate the belt. Then, Wilder can fight whoever the hell he wants for no belt.
I agree. Either defend the belt the right way or vacate it.

I hope I'm wrong and the fight happens in March or April.
The fight won't happen at all. If Wilder is allowed to fight a third voluntary defense in December or January, he will vacate the belt shortly after that defense to avoid fighting Povetkin. If he is forced by the WBC to fight Povetkin next, he will vacate the belt instead of negotiating a fight with Povetkin and then fight some bum in February or March 2017.

Either way, Wilder is not fighting Povetkin!

Not gonna happen. Why would Wilder vacate the belt and forgo millions he'd make against Povetkin? Wilder will get paid handsomely if the purse bid is won by one of those Russian billionaires. There's too much money at stake for him to vacate; also, if he vacated he would lose the respect of all his fans. Wilder's no Peter Quilin; he has enormous pride and a sizeable fan base in Alabama and elsewhere in the U.S.

If I was team Povetkin, I would petition the WBC and force Wilder to fight in January or February.

Since when are boxing fans sticklers for alphabet rules and saying a fighter should fight less because of a belt (because Povetkin ain't fighting in November then coming back early next year the earliest would probably be like April). If a guy wants to fight they should fight.

As long as Wilder moves with alacrity the timing will work out fine, but Povetkin's team will likely have to be on board for their plan to work out. Which either means fighting in Russia, higher purse, or whatever Povetkin's team wants since Wilder is the champ that is a pretty good card to have for making a better deal.

How long did Povetkin sit as Wlad's mandatory like 5 years, so I am sure he would wait a couple months if the deal strikes his fancy to fight Wilder. Wilder is going to want the cheddar that comes from Povetkin and given the structure of the division it is the best way for him to make the absolute most.

If Wilder wanted to fight Povetkin, he could have done it in September or earlier in this year! The fact that he wants to fight three voluntary opponents before fighting Povetkin should tell you all you need to know about Wilder. Actually, Wilder is a Peter Quillen! Quillen chose to forego a purse three times the size of the largest purse he has ever received to avoid fighting a tough opponent. Wilder is trying to use the "I don't want to wait" excuse to avoid fighting Povetkin when Wilder is the one who made Povetkin wait in the first place.

There are very few things that I am absolutely certain about. One of them is Wilder will vacate his belt before he fights Povetkin! If I am wrong about that, I will gladly come on this site and admit that I was wrong. I hope you will do the same.

lol yes let the man come into the fight not having fought in ages to help Wilder's chances, wouldn't you like that? I mean, Wilder has to stop fighting the buffet patrons at some point, right?

Yes, the guy that just fought Klitschko, is scared to fight ****ing Deontay Wilder, a windmilling drunk who was seconds from being layed out by "the little drummer boy" Eric Molina before he remembered that they would take his free buffet vouchers away if he knocked him out.

You're doing good, I'll give you that, but you're still a long ways to go from the elite Wilder ball garglers on here.
Keep your chin up though. You'll get there eventually, you've definitely got the passion and dedication for it.
This the guy who got ragdolled by klitschko and knocked down four times, one via a jab that u tokn bowt?

This the guy who only fights twice a year and still chose to fight in November when the fight could have been made in Dec or Jan that you tokn bwt?

This the guy who was klits mandatory for two years before he was pressured to fight him?

This the Povetkin you tokn bwt son?

I have no problem with that. If Wilder vacates I'll be the first one to criticize him and say I was wrong about it. I will hold you to your end

Jennings didn't get knocked down four times, and didn't get knocked down by a jab when he faced Klitschko's, unlike povetkin

jennings and povetkin are both good opponents

and i will be surprised of wilder fights either one of them next

haymon can surely sc**** up the belgian silver diamond champion for a bout at wilder's high school reunion
