Well experts have said the way to beat Golovkin is put him on the backfoot. I'm sure there'll be times in this fight Golovkin will be forced to fighting off the backfoot.

GGG will be smart enough to box carefully and work behind his jab, picking his spots to throw power shots. Once he starts to wear down Lemieux, he'll stop him.

Are the nerves tight ???? GGG must KO Lemeiux and do it without playing games like he did with willieboy!!

This is what makes fights great !!! Threats fighting threats is what it's all about not ballerina chicken running

Can it, well sure. Will it, very unlikely.

GGG has faced big punchers. Lemieux has no faced anything like what he is about to face.

KO for GGG by round 7, and that is only because after the first 3, Lemieux goes into survive mode and GGG lets him survive to not piss off fans who dont want to see a quick fight.

I can, the guy couldn't put his last fighter away although he hit him cleanly repeatedly.

Not to mention that every time Lemieux gets a big fight, he does bad.

Its not just the two losses, although those matter. Has Lemieux improved since rubio, sure. Has GGG improves since Rubio, yea, of course he has.

Has Lemieux show anything other than a powerful punch that makes us think he has the skills to beat GGG.

          No.

He has a punchers chance, but frankly, I think even that is a stretch.
Lemieux's trainers & promoter have kept him away from punchers since Rubio, just check out the stats(There is a reason for that). And after the first jab or solid shot lands you will see David in serious back up mode just like every other Golovkin opponent. As a matter of fact, I see Lemieux getting hurt with the first shot that land's solid. He was stunned several times by a light punching N'Dam, just picture him being hit with a devastating shot by GGG? Short fight... But it should be fan friendly while it lasts, and along with many others I can't wait!

I wonder sometimes, with you 'fans' who diss fighters who admit they were weight drained for a fight... Tell me, just how many of you 'experts' have ever boxed, either amateur or pro? Now, how many have been weight drained? Geez, even if you have no experience, just ask a conditioning coach. Not like it isn't fairly common knowledge.

Sometimes I think a fighter could break and arm, and if he quit after it there would be some DAs grinding on him for being a bum, a quitter. Guess I should just get used to the fact there will always be delusional DAs among the fans.

lemieux has: youth, size, power, and speed

people look back to lemieux's early losses but he was very young and GREEN. now he is more mature and learned a lot.

Lemieux is so aggressive, that he himself could get KO'd early. There is another side of the coin also. GGG or any fighter in recent times for that matter has not seen this type of aggression. Lemieux is so balls to the wall he might put GGG is a more defensive posture for the early rounds. Could possibly open up his skin. So many dynamics to this fight. Lemieux is far from perfect, but he is also the type of guy nobody wants to fight. He is like a bull in a China Shop. GGG I feel will have to be the Matador in that China Shop in the early going.

If Lemieux outboxed Golovkin that would be pretty shocking, but if he catches him with a huge explosive shot (or shots) that is just what Lemieux does so it wouldn't be that shocking even if you favor Golovkin.

This fight will be a war of attrition plain and simple. This isn't a boxing science fight, it's not a footwork versus agility. It's a fight between two guys looking to make a statement. Guys with one punch KO type of power make for a very compelling fight.

Now or 3 years from now? A lot can happen in 3 years and anyone can get knocked out. That's not exactly narrowing it down. Your prediction appears to be of the generalized, 2-bit psychic variety.

Other than GGG and Cotto, have any of these MW's ever been considered anything other than good prospects?
