Comments Thread For: Arum Explains Why He Passed on Provodnikov as Foe

As krikya360.com previously reported, former WBO junior welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov (24-4, 17KOs) is leaving HBO and going across the street to Showtime.

Provodnikov and members of his team have long complained that HBO was unable to persuade Top Rank to match any of their fighters against the 'Siberian Rocky.'

Arum was having flashbacks of Juanma/Salido during Bradley/Prov and after Prov stopped Alvarado he said "not anymore".

Difference between arum and haymon. Atleast haymon gives his loses lots of opportunities

I understand what arum is doing, Matchmaking. He wants to give Pac a W so Amir Khan or Lucas is the bill.

If you consider the Bradley fight to be a legit loss, you'd better pick another sport to start watching.

That is typical Arum rubbish, ignore it.

After listening to every Arum comment, I ask myself..... "Bob, why do you need me to believe that today?"

                  Rios/Provodnikov is an obvious no-brainer.

But the possible result could be a train-crash that will wreck both fighters. Other than a great fun fight, there would be nothing on the line for Arum.

Arum doesn't have very much in reserve, and the boxing landscape has undergone a lot of changes recently. He needs to keep his options open and not commit to anything that could affect his immediate future.

MOST Arum decisions are financial, although I suppose that is obvious.

It is weak shht that Rios/Provodnikov hasn't happened yet.

Those guys will be matched up when Bob has no further use for either of them. He is still marketing Rios as a top draw/fighter at 140/147, and Provo can be matched up with anyone and still come out of the fight with credibility.

It doesn't suit Bob, thats why the fight hasn't happened yet.
