Not, how highly they are regarded in their respective divisions ?

Dont get me wrong, I think that Lee is a good opponent for Golovkin.

Not a world-beater, and Golovkin wont make the hof off his name..... but Lee is a good opponent considering the current state of the MW division.

But, what top SMW's would Lee beat ?
I just want to know which SMWs he thinks will be available to fight GGG.
I have a strong su****ion that he is going to name a bunch of Al Haymon fighters and Andre Ward.

Its great to see some movement in the MW division and believe it or not Quillin ducking Korobov was the bestthing to happen to the division recently. Cotto and Quillin holding the straps is just not good for 160 bcuz they refuse to fight abybody. One down One to go.
Lee would be easy picking for Golovkin. He threw about 200 punches over the 12 rounds against Quillin because he was afraid of Quillin's power. GGG would hit him once and the fight would be over. But I do see Lee taking the fight with no problem at all. He already signed for it once but it was cancelled when Golovkin's father died.

Cotto will never fight any MW without a catchweight. Once he loses his title to Canelo or vacates it to avoid GGG, I cannot see anyone giving him a title shot at MW again. Back to 154 for the last fight on his contract.

Actually Canelo is bigger than Golovkin on fight night. I think he came into his last few fights at around 174. Wouldn't make any difference though. He would still go out on his back.

Will Ward have something to bring to the party by then? Right now, he has nothing at all and there is no point in Golovkin fighting him. The way he is going, Ward MAY have had one or two more fights by 2017. He is hardly working to build his brand back up. I can see him being stripped of his last remaining title soon if he does not defend it and then he will have nothing at all to attract any decent opponent.

Ward is no longer a factor in any serious discussion until he has at least two fights against serious competition.

It's crazy to me when people say that GGG is too big for Cotto but don't say anything about Canelo picking on a WW lol

Andy Lee would add to GGG's resume...and that's not saying much. Subway does need a new rep though.

Canelo is going to have around 18 - 20 lbs on Cotto when fight night comes around. And it won't be like Geale with a quick blubber gain. Canelo is still young enough to have great recovery and that is the main reason I think Cotto will be in serious trouble when he sees Canelo across from him.

So, you think that Golovkin will flatly refuse to give Cotto a catchweight ?

I completely disagree with your post, and the bold is ridiculous to be frank.

EVERYBODY knows who Ward is, including Golovkin, and including you

The " rebuild his brand " thing..... is the very worst of the numerous excuses that Team Golovkin have used to duck Ward.

Ward would EASILY be Golovkins best opponent, and he is the only fighter who can validate Golovkin as truly elite.... as opposed to fanboy elite.

For money, who cares..... for legacy, Golovkin needs Ward more than Ward needs him.
