He was gone for almost two years just as the WW division was heating up. Hatton fight in December of 2007, JMM in September of 2009. Missed all of 2008 and all but 3 months of 2009.

Spin it how you like but it speaks for itself: Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo, Marquez, Maidana, Mosley....he beat them all, easily.
Old pacquiao, cotto in his worst years, overhyped canelo, small marquez, he lost maidana 1, old mosley.

It doesn't help his legacy that he didn't fight anyone of note in there prime, such a shame. His skill level is kinda crazy though,if only he believed in himself like he says he does.

He was gone a year, bro. 18 months to be exact. The only reason that it was even that long, if you remember, was being he injured his rib in training for JMM.

More importantly, though, is the fact still remains that if whoever you think he was ducking or scared to fight suddenly became washed up during Mayweathers time off, then they werent that good to begin with. You people need to stop acting as if all of these fighters get old and washed up while Mayweather remains in his prime indefinitely.

floyd's entire career is completely overrated.

name me one top fighter/future hof'er that floyd legit beat in their prime????

there is a reason why floyd took a lot of calculated "retirements", why he avoided a lot of threats by making excuses and putting up road blocks, and why he is fighting berto next. floyd is one big phony, illusion, lie!!!

These were highly rated fighters at the top of the sport when Mayweather beat them.

Butthurt Pacstans can't stand that Mayweather has surpassed Pacquiao in most peoples all time ratings.

this is why floyd is not a TBE and never will be even close to it. he is a scared princess deep down. he RARELY took risks. he waited until all the big threats either moved up or were too war torn before fighting them. cotto, pacquiao, mosley, and dela hoya. none of them in their prime.
