He was gone for a year. You idiots make it seem like he retired for 5 years or something. If it only takes a year for whoever you think he was ducking to become washed up, then they obviously weren't that good to begin with.

He was gone for almost two years just as the WW division was heating up. Hatton fight in December of 2007, JMM in September of 2009. Missed all of 2008 and all but 3 months of 2009.

More importantly, though, is the fact still remains that if whoever you think he was ducking or scared to fight suddenly became washed up during Mayweathers time off, then they werent that good to begin with. You people need to stop acting as if all of these fighters get old and washed up while Mayweather remains in his prime indefinitely.

this is why floyd is not a TBE and never will be even close to it. he is a scared princess deep down. he RARELY took risks. he waited until all the big threats either moved up or were too war torn before fighting them. cotto, pacquiao, mosley, and dela hoya. none of them in their prime.
