Comments Thread For: Mayweather: They'll Offer Me A lot of Money To Fight On

On September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) will step in the ring for what he claims is the last time of his 19-year career.

He says two-time welterweight champion Andre Berto will be the final opponent.

There are many who are doubting Mayweather's words. They believe the fighter will return next May to chase his 50th pro win - which in turn would break the 49-0 record of legendary heavyweight Rocky Marciano.

Will they offer him $32m for dud opponents though? I doubt it, the numbers came up short every time that happened.

It's Pacquiao where the real money will be made, possibly Cotto & Canelo too depending on who wins.

In saying that, Haymon could hand him a PBC fortune to fight Danny Garcia on free tv, how lame would that be.

#50.. i know this is a pipe dream since Lara is "boring" and won't sell but i think this is the toughest fight out there for Mayweather.
