At the very least, Light Heavyweight, then we can compare 147/154 Floyd's style to GGG. Right now I can only compare their debut weight classes.
That doesn't make much sense man, a better question is how many weight divisions did Floyd move up to after he was 33, Golovkin already stopped growing, and he is a perfect sized middleweight. So you really, honestly think that Golovkin has to fatten up(because that is the only way he will get to Cruiserweight lol without massive steroid use) all the way to Cruiserweight where he would be ridiculously undersized to compare him to Floyd? Furthermore Mayweather was a decent sized welter, if you are asking Golovkin to move up 40 pounds at 33 years old, what would be the true equivalent for Floyd?

And are you implying that Mayweather had to become more conservative because he was fighting bigger guys? He was a decent sized welterweight.

Martin Murray and Ian Gardner stand out as the most skillful fighters he fought.

WW's rehydrate to 158-165lbs, Floyd rehydrates to 150. He was not a decent sized WW, just a very good boxer who used skills and defense to beat the bigger guys. Floyd rehydrates 3lbs vs his oppnents 10-15lbs. Golovkin does not have to face that at 160, he rehydrates the same as every one else, 168-170lbs, everyone is the same size. Even at 130, Floyd was 133-134 and his opponents were 147lbs and he would KO them. Both Corrales and Castillo were welterweights on fight night against Floyd. The only guys that were the same size as Floyd at WW were Mitchell, Judah, Marquez and Pacquiao.

Actually, a better comparison would be how many weight divisions they've moved up between the ages of 24 and 33.

Gardner was more difficult than Geale, stylistically. He went the distance with prime MW Abraham, whch if you could remember, was a beast. Golovkin or Abraham could not stop Gardner, very difficult style and very frustrating to fight. Only Chad Dawson managed to stop him but closer to SMW. At MW Gardner was a pretty good opponent for rising fighters. He wasn't elite but he was difficult. He retired at a very young age(28), I don't know why, he wasn't bad, maybe an injury. He was not that good but he was not a bad fighter, good test for anyone at MW.

Let's see if Golovkin waits it out or fights another Monroe in the meanwhile in Monaco or something.
