Comments Thread For: Thurman: I Wouldn't Pay For Mayweather's Next Fight

Brooklyn, New York - Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KO’s) stormed on the scene three years ago on HBO. On that night, he called out the likes of Miguel Cotto, Paulie Malignaggi, and even Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Three years later, that outrageous call out is more of a reality as Thurman has become one of the better welterweights in the world. But much like every other Mayweather opponent, unless the pound for pound stalwart choose you - you’re not fighting him. But it doesn’t deter Thurman from continuously asking for it.

will people start accusing thurman of being "pathetically obsessed" with floyd like they do with khan

anyone who thinks its odd that he would fight berto instead of them must be "pathetically obsessed"

I should invite Thurman over for a free stream. We can get drunk and call Mayweather a runner all night.

IThurman deserves a shot at Floyd just bcuz of his position but i dont think hes ready. Porter shouldve gotten a Floyd fight last year in 2014, even now hed be a decent option. Brook or Khan? Fk no! Too busy dodging the rest of the division. Thats why i can be kinda/sorta satisfied with Berto as Floyds opponent, after all, he is more accomplished at WW than the guys i mentioned...hopefully Floyd retires after, the sport doesnt need his BS anymore

The fight will tank, and I am questioning whether the fight will take place this September.

It hasn't been long enough, Amir on the other hand damn near cancelled his own wedding thinking he was getting the call. When Thurman travels across the pond just to do an interview to call out floyd then he'll be approach Amir levels of thirst.

I wouldnt pay for it either lol , not if it was a fight I was wanting to see , if it was a see the last fight of a ATG , well put it this way Id buy it before I bought one of Thurmans .

People just dont get it this is his last fight , its quietly ride of into the sunset like other retiring atgs , when they are faded old and had enough of the sport they dont go out looking for their greatest challengers , why the fck should they when they have paid their dues for years and years , its the curtain coming down at the very end of their careers , fighters like Thurman need to make some real noise in the ring against the best guys , as it is they are looking like big mouth heros that really havent done anything , but the fanboys love all this Im a hero sht , you wanna talk about Floyd , Floyd has done it Thurman aint done sht .
