Ruslan could win this with punch volume. Broner has nothing to keep him off.

Broner lost to Porter, Maidana, Malignaggi, Ponce De Leon and Quintero. He should have 5L on his record. I think Provodnikov probably makes it the 6th loss.

If Provodnikov keeps coming he gets to Broner more and more frequently in the second half of the fight. Prior to that I would expect Broner to rack up rounds.

Ruslan can't throw straight punches and he's always wide open coming in. His only defence is that straight up and down head bob, which itself disappears after 4 or 5 rounds. He doesn't even keep his gloves up because it takes him too long to throw his hands from that position. Whatever else you can say about Broner, he's fast and he's accurate. He would tag Ruslan a lot at that middle range.

But Ruslan is relentless. If he ate bombs from Matthysse all night then nothing Broner can throw will discourage him. And once he starts to draw his opponent into exchanges he will hit them. Broner is not going to slip Provodnikovs shots at close range, nor block them. His chin is respectable for sure but Ruslan hits like truck. He hurt both Bradley and Lucas pretty badly and I don't think Broner's chin is on that level.

The last four rounds would be brutal for Broner. He would tire and the onslaught from Ruslan would never stop. If he stays on his feet I think he might squeak a decision. But it seems more likely that he would get dropped once or twice, and maybe even stopped.

Alvarado has superior movement to Broner. Or had at least.

Broner doesn't handle getting pressured. We've seen this. Ruslan catches him in the mid rounds, scoring a couple knockdowns before the fight is over. Broner isn't afraid to clinchthe night away so I doubt it ends from stoppage. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way on points as Provod will have to work his ass off to win rounds in the judge's eyes.

I guess the argument for AB would be that if Lucas outboxed Provo then AB should be able to do the same thing.

I just don't think AB is tough or mobile enough to keep Provo off him for 12 rounds.

On paper its a good fight.

Molina is way worse, and he didn't even pressure Broner for most the fight. Broner spent at least half that fight moving forward.

This will be a hell of a fight, Provo's face will probably go through the meat grinder again, but mark my words, there is a strong chance of Broner's career being ended here.

He'll throw cheap shots, fight dirty and his stamina doesn't die in the middle rounds like Ruslan's. The Ring will be big. Broner has a good chin too, he has absorbed a lot of big punches and never been stopped. Ruslan is not a finisher, the one high profile stoppage he got it took him ages to get Alvarado out. I favor him to win.

Alvarado & Matthysse aren't hard to find, it doesn't take a great pressure fighter to get them to engage and he still couldn't close distance on Matthysse properly for most of the fight.

I'll be supporting Provo, but I think he will struggle to close out a decision.
If Lucas Matthysse didn't have the power to slow Ruslan, then Broner's "power" will feel like a gentle breeze to him.

And he sure as hell isn't a good mover, and I don't think his stamina is any better than Provodnikov's. There's a reason Broner doesn't let his hands go more.
