Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Manager Wants Selby, Not in The UK

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Manager Egis Klimas says his fighter, WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (4-1, 2KOs), is ready to face any of the other beltholders at 126-pounds.

Lomachenko, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner, is going to return in the fall. One possibility is to have him defend his title as part of Top Rank's planned event in Dubai - which has a tentative date of November 21st.

I can definitely understand Klimas' concern with a BS British stoppage, but they better work their way around that with non-brit ref. If they're not willing to fight Selby in the UK I don't think they'll ever get the chance to fight him.

      Yeah good luck with that.

Selby isn't fighting any of the other champions until he gets that Josh Warrington payday.

lomachenko should be good enough to win despite the best efforts of the referee and judges

What fights has he stopped from happening? Certainly not this one and certainly not Rigondeaux. Blaming him for wanting fair terms?

he's a manager, not a promoter. it's his job to look out for his fighters' best interests. even as a brit myself, i can totally sympathise with foreign fighters being reluctant to travel here. they're both titlists so it would seem fair for both sides to make compromises
