Comments Thread For: Frampton-Quigg in Jeopardy, Carl Eyes Move To 126

El Paso, Texas - A British super-fight between bantamweight champions Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg is possibly in jeopardy.

Both fighters were in action on Saturday night. In Manchester, WBA 'regular' champion Quigg got the biggest win of his career when he crushed former champion Kiko Martinez in two rounds. Across the ocean in Texas, Frampton was dropped twice in the first round before coming back to dominate the action against Alejandro Gonzalez for a twelve round decision win.

He apparently did the weight wrong and really struggled to get it off.

Whether he has to move up or just take the weight off more progressively through camp, time will tell.

In the fight, he appeared to be more listless than usual. Others noticed he didn't look like he had in previous fights. 126 with how short he is may be a detriment but if he cant make 122, it is what it is.

              That's a bad move IMO.

I really hope they reconsider. Just cant see him being that effective at 126lbs top level.

Probably just messed up a bit this fight. Is he still using the younger Mcguigan as his nutritionist? Perhaps time to change to a more established figure

                  I don't think he'll have to change.

Shane is perfectly qualified and knows his stuff in terms of training and nutrition. Plenty of fighters who are big at a weight can have a difficult time making weight once in a while. Slightly different approach next time should be all it takes.

Quigg will also likely be at 126 at some point, probably sooner rather than later.
