Comments Thread For: Mayweather Takes Gervonta Davis Under His Wing

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, U.S.A. – This month, undefeated twenty year-old featherweight professional boxer, Gervonta "Tank" Davis (Baltimore, Maryland/pro record: 11-0, 10 KOs) accompanied top pound-for-pound welterweight boxing champion, Floyd “Money” Mayweather (Las Vegas, Nevada/pro record: 48-0, 26 KOs), on trips to New York City, Washington, D.C., Miami, St. Louis, and Kansas City. He travelled on Floyd’s private jet, participated in Mayweather’s public appearances, observed his business dealings, and took a ride with him on his yacht. Davis is now in Las Vegas, training alongside Mayweather at his gym, Mayweather Boxing Club. Mayweather started training camp in preparation for his next scheduled fight, September 12 at the MGM Grand’s Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

If Floyd wants to supervise his development as an elite athlete that's admirable, but it's a terrible idea to expose the kid to the money May lifestyle, he'll gain respect for wealth and lose his dedication to the craft.

      AB 2.0 in the making.

That's what I think happens too. These guys think Floyd didn't kill himself in the gym to get there. But either way war Davis. Hopefully marylands next champ
