Comments Thread For: Vargas, Legal Team Speak on Appeal Over Bradley Loss

Jessie Vargas has shown patience in the past, but did so with the hope of bigger things to come in his promising career. Now comes the hard part—having to sit on a loss while unsure of what the immediate future holds.

Attempting to control his own destiny, Vargas has intiated—on his own—a formal protest with the California State Athletic Commission over the controversial outcome of his June 27 welterweight title fight with Tim Bradley in Carson, California.

The grounds for the appeal stem from Vargas believing he was cheated upwards of 10 seconds for the fight to properly run its course. Bradley was way ahead, but badly rocked in the final 20 seconds of the fight. High drama ensued, but ended in anti-climactic fashion when referee Pat Russell mistook the 10-second warning for the final bell, jumping in to stop the fight.

with the way Bradley was wobbling he could've put him on the floor, but Bradley would've gotten up and time's up.

Or he could of been on full tilt against the ropes and the ref would of had to stop it.

Theres no harm in a rematch. Its not like Bradleys going to get Mayweather or Khan & he made himself some pretty good money for fighting a guy like Vargas. I had Bradley winning 8rds to 4 & I predict the same outcome in a rematch. This would be just another stay busy fight for the desert storm until something better hopefully opens up...

If they change it to no contest I hope Bradley fights him rematch, beat him comfortably again and taunts him afterwards

Appeal what? Bradley would have clearly survived, he wasn't as badly hurt as people are acting...

This is Vargas' way of saying he would have won even though he lost the first 11 rounds...

Vargas has a case they took his only shot to win away from him blame the refe. it does not matter if Timmy would have got stop or not we will never know if this garbage fighter would have stop Timmy. if they call this a no contest I got no problem but not watching the rematch. THE RULES SHOULD BE ENFORCED DOESN'T MATTER WHO IT IS
