British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is still holding out hope for a the opportunity to face WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
If Mayweather decides to fight someone else, Khan says there is no chance that he's face domestic rival, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 25KOs) before the year is out.
Khan will instead pursue a return date, in the United States, in November or December. He plans to speak with his adviser, Al Haymon, in the coming days to discuss the options for the fall and to obtain a status on the Mayweather fight.
