Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez's Ring Return Looking Good

The return of former four-division world champion is imminent. Juan Manuel Marquez, nearly 42-years-old, has been out of the ring since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado in Los Angeles.

Marquez has been dealing with a knee injury that continued to reappear when he trained for scheduled return dates.

In recent weeks Marquez has been training at the Romanza gym, under the watchful eye of trainer Nacho Beristain. The knee is still not 100%, but no longer gives him any pain during training exercises or sparring sessions.

I'd like to see Marquez fight Kell Brook this year. It seems unlikely Marquez could fight in September though an October date sounds cool.

I agree, that would be a great fight.

            1. Pacquiao
            2. Maidana
            3. Provodnikov
            4. Rios

As far as one final big payday, Pacquiao makes the most sense.

Yeah, honestly manny-marquez 5 would be the biggest fight in the sport, on par with canelo-cotto... Especially if it's both's first fight back

This has Sergio Martinez written all over it. How shitty it'll be if Marquez's "stoppage 0" goes due to a busted knee. :conf3:

Marquez is ready. He was seen throwing large stones down a mountain and drinking piss last week. His focus is intense.
