He is a good puncher but not a huge puncher or Collazo would have been knocked down with all the big shots Thurman landed. I think he is about the 5th or 6th best welterweight in the world but not the best. I think Mayweather, Brook and Pacquiao all beat him. He is about an even fight with Khan, Porter or Bradley. To me he is not the future of the welterweight division. He is in the mix but he is not a standout.
Why dont you stay there and support him ?

It is not his fault that you over-rated him

Good guy, good fun fighter, whats not to like about Thurman.

This is just another fighter falling victim to unrealistic expectations that were put on him. We need Thurman/Bradley/Porter/Khan/Brook to all fight each other to establish the best welterweight post 9/12.
      Exactly, great post !

Been saying that for months now.

In a way, you're right..... and the same goes for Pacquiao.

The current crop of welters have avoided fighting each other in fear of missing out on that landslide payday.

I agree, I think Brook beats Thurman.

        Not sure about easy.

There's a difference between being good and being able to beat Floyd. Just because you can't beat Floyd, doesn't mean you suck. And that's something his haters fail to accept. Thurman is the latest HOPE, that doesn't appear likely to slay the dragon.

NOBODY is beating Floyd at 47. NOBODY!!! I think Andrade and Lara would give Floyd a tough time at 54. And obviously, I think GGG beats Floyd. But no welterweight on the current landscape is touching dude.

Does One Time need more time before big time?

This is a funny question for a title about Sometimes Thurman.

Any update about Thurman? Is he still not ready for prime time yet?
