Hearns by UD. Hearns jab is the difference in the fight.

      Hearns 117-111

I am sure Hearns would win and probably by KO. Mayweather is a great fighter but Hearns was greater and custom made to beat Mayweather. . Hearns had incredible hand speed and punching power. He had a height and reach advantage over all welterweights. He had an incredible left jab that was fast, long, accurate and powerful. He was able to land that jab on everyone. His straight right was one of the greatest weapons the ring has seen and his left hook was also a KO punch. Hearns was best known for his power but he was a great boxer and was well ahead of Leonard on points when he was stopped in the 14th round. I don't see how Mayweather could beat Hearns. He couldn't stay at long range and potshot Hearns because Hearns was better at that than Mayweather was. Hearns would attack Mayweather behind his long ramrod jab. When he landed a good straight right in the right spot it would be over for Mayweather because Hearns was a great finisher. Mosley's right was no where near as powerful as Hearn's right and old Mosley had Floyd in trouble. Because of styles and assets the fighters had I think Mayweather would have a better chance to beat Leonard than Hearns.

So if that fight was a 12 round fight, and played out the same way, Hearns would have beaten Leonard by unanimous decision.

Many (but not all) believe Leonard is patently better than Mayweather, because he had more rounded skills, offensively and defensively, so would Hearns beat the more defensive-minded, safety-first Floyd too over 12 rounds?
Hearns would murder Floyd remember Floyd avoids Black fighters in their prime since going 147

Leonard was actually out-boxed by Hearns in the early and later rounds of their first fight. Leonard was great enough to sell out and get the TKO anyway. But great defense usually beats great offense and Mayweather, being more strictly defensive-minded than Leonard, fights a different fight against Hearns. I think Tommy follows Floyd around unable to cut the ring off. Mayweather controls distance and circles away from Hearn's right hand and jabs to Hearn's body. Hearns was a great boxer in the amateurs who became a great puncher as a pro...but even Hearns can't outbox Mayweather and I don't think Mayweather gives him a chance to land the right hand. I think Floyd by UD in a fight that could never compare to Leonard-Hearns I.

Hearns reach advantage would prove to great for a prime Floyd. Floyd wouldn't be able to get on the inside without taking the same punches Hagler did but Floyd would be knocked out unlike Hagler.

                  Hearns by KO....

Hearns would KO Floyd. Floyd wouldn't even take this fight or many others. LoL. Hearns was an ANIMAL that they don't make today. Floyd is a product of good marketing and good match-making. He is a great fighter BUT he doesn't fight the best. That'll be on his tombstone. His defense is a bit overrated as well. If you have a good jab, you can bust him up. If you're a good body puncher, you can hit him there. He is a very unique defender but Whitaker is the best defensive fighter I ever seen. Matter of fact, he gets stopped by Hearns, SRL, and Duran. His toughness isn't in the same league as their toughness was. To win meant everything to them. Go and watch the violence in which they fought every round and you'd see what I mean.

Took Floyd 6 years to fight a fliyweight midget.... A fight with Hearns will take about 10 years. So by that time Hearns will be past prime and thats how floyd fight fighters, either he fights "A" level fighetrs past prime or waits for a C level fighter to have 1 great victory, like Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, Baldomir etc etc.

                    TBE doe.

I don't ever envision a situation where floyd wins this fight. Horrible size and style matchup for him
