Herrera is the champ, that Garcia decision was a disgusting disgrace. Judging in PR is beyond awful and they are the worst at leaning towards home fighters. Herrera did not just win, he beat up Garcia and I didn't even have it close. Herrera won 7-8 rounds 100% without any doubt and probably won 1-2 more. I always knew Garcia was overrated and that proved it to me. Garcia is not an elite fighter at all and the way his career is going proves it. He probably should have lost to Peterson too to be honest. He beat Lucas sure but watch the fight again, he backpeddled and kept his hand glued to the side of his head scared for dear life. He damn sure won't fight Lucas again I guarantee. Khan was whipping his ass too until he landed his signature head down, eyes closed hooks. Which is the only punch he has btw. Garcia is a B+ fighter. Good, tough, strong, solid. He is not not special at all and will lose to any truly elite fighter at 140. He will also take some losses at 147 because I don't think he has the power to do what he has at 140. He is not beating any top WW's.

Garcia sucks and I will laugh my ass off if Paulie beats him lol.

At least that’s what the record says. In the eyes of most observers, Herrera beat Danny Garcia and Jose Benavidez last year, and as he prepares for a Saturday bout with Hank Lundy at the LA Sports Arena, those same observers look at this not as a 10 round NABF title bout, but a world championship defense.

      He appreciates that support.

“It’s real satisfying,” Herrera said. “They (the fans) call me the real champ and it keeps reminding me and keeps me positive. That makes me confident, so I have to stay at that level and fight as tough and as hard as in those fights (against Garcia and Benavidez), and I can’t slack off. If they believe I’m the true 140-pound champion, I’ve got to keep training like I really am to stay on top.”

Herrera’s promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, hasn’t looked at the Riverside product as a 1-2 fighter in his last three. Company founder Oscar De La Hoya dubbed Herrera his Fighter of the Year for 2014, and he showed his support by putting Herrera in Saturday’s main event, which airs on HBO Latino. It’s the kind of backing many fighters on three-fight winning streaks don’t get, but Herrera is getting used to being the A side.

“It’s a little different now getting so much attention, but it’s pretty exciting,” he said. “It probably won’t hit me all too much until the day of the fight.”

On the day of the fight, Herrera will be in there with a fighter in Lundy that won’t be too hard to find. That’s the good news. The bad news is that many judges score aggression, not necessarily effective aggression, and rarely reward the subtle things that Herrera does so well under another one of the scoring criteria, ring generalship. But here’s the real trouble for the California veteran. If you’re coming off fights you believed you won and most people agree with you, how do you go back to the gym to fix something you don’t believe is broken? [Click Here To Read More]

The only guy eating fists that night was Danny. :ROFLMAO:
Guys on this site are confused because they think theres only 1 style to boxing because all they know is present day boxers. When you have a throwback style like Herrera that rolls with the punches as his Defense instead of shoulder rolling he is apparently labeled as a Mexican punching bag. If they watch the fight, Danny never landed realy clean because its hard to do on herrera once hes in rythm, he keeps his chin low and moves with the punch as it comes in. He took away Dannys bread and butter left hook by stepping in low towards Dannys right, chin tucked low.

Oh well though, spilt milk... Lets hope Mauricio looks impressive against the Midget Lundy, picks up an alphabet title by years end and we see Matthysse vs Herrera next year in a unification match at Staples.

Shut up peasant... YOU did not beat Khan, Holt, Arnoutis, Matthysse, Morales, PEDerson, Judah etc. You landed more jabs than Danny Garcia, son.

              Stay in your lane.

Herrera should be ring champ at 140.
                Boxing politics are a shame.

Imo he is the man until hebisbtruely beaten. Would like to see him fight mathysse after he schools lundy.

Herrera got robbed many times, Garcia got gifts many times, but I am pretty sure Danny gets kayod at welterweight as soon as he fights any top 10 fighter.

It's a damn shame what happened to Herrera. He's too risky to ever be guaranteed a chance like that again, and he's not good enough to be sure he could beat everyone who stands between him and a guaranteed shot. That's the real shame, is that that might have been Herrera's one big chance to be the man of a division, and he made the most of it. He won the fight, and got screwed. It's horrible.

I hope he gets the Matthysse/Postol winner.

He doesn't now how to win cause his style is to just stay close in scoring. He is a bum and always will be a bum!!!!! If he starts taking Steroids and PEDS that's the only way he will start winning fights!! U know like his Mexi-cant counterparts!!!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY Y MEXI-CANTS R USING PEDS N STERIODS!!!! TO GET THEM OVER THE TOP!!!!! :*******:
