Why do people dislike Max Kellerman's commentary?

    What's wrong with it exactly?

I always hear complaints about him, but I honestly can't say I have ever been annoyed or put off by his commentating.

Plus he's getting more and more aggressive on the mic for the post fight interviews whereas before he was too submissive and let the fighters ramble on about stuff no one cares about. Soon enough he'll be on that Jim Gray level of ruthlessness.

To be honest, I usually watch fights with the sound off, because the commentary tends to be terrible.

The fighter comparisons to old school fighters do get kind of annoying though, especially if it's a mediocre fighter getting compared to the likes of Frazier, just because said fighter landed a decent left hook.

In fact I enjoy Max much more the Lamply. There are times when Max didn't go with the agenda and spoke on his knowledge of the game.

Case in point: Donaire. Everyone was up Donaire's A**, yet Max wondered why this man wouldn't want a Name like Rigondeax on his resume. So Max questioned him multiple times.

HBOs commentary is pretty biased and terrible at times, but I do feel that Max and to some extent, Roy Jones, even out the playing field when Jim goes off on his emotional fanboy tirades.

PBC commentary is just straight garbage.

Showtime is nice and even imo.

There was a funny thread about him on here that had me lol'ing

I don't mind him but the way he talks is irritating, especially in the post fight interviews

His analysis and knowledge of the sport is great. I like hearing him in talk shows, podcasts, post fight interviews etc.

What I don't enjoy is his commentary during actual fights. He's just not that good at it.
