true but cotto is contractually bound to HBO to fight canelo. On the BET ward event they asked cotto about the fight and he said he will be ready.

Cotto is the best option for Floyd. It was one of the most competitive fights Mayweather's had. And considering that, now, Cotto has solved his training issues by joining Roach, it truly makes Cotto a dangerous opponent for Floyd to face. Unfortunately, Floyd waited until the right moment to face Cotto the first time, and I'm sure he would do the same again. Otherwise, the fight's not happening. That's what keeps Floyd not only winning, but taking minimal damage in doing so. Mayweather is incredibly smart not only inside the ring, but also outside of it, as it pertains to his boxing career. People react with incredulity when Mayweather states he's looking for a low-level fight to finish his contract, but that's exactly what Mayweather is all about--calculation. It's about time people figured it out. And, hey, if he's making 270+ million, there's not much you can say to counter his strategy. Like he said, he's playing chess, not checkers.

Floyd isn't trying to work hard anymore, you can tell by who he is picking to fight. And honestly by the names he's given and talking about stacking his undercard, I could see his next fight on PBC, not PPV.
