    MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC/WBO/WBA Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) reacted to questions regarding a potential rematch with Miguel Cotto, who holds the WBC middleweight title.

    Mayweather fought Cotto at the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds in May of 2012, and won a twelve round unanimous decision at the MGM Grand.

    There doesn't appear to be a heavy amount of interest from Mayweather's end in a rematch. Mayweather has always maintained that he beat a solid version of Cotto in 2012, but felt the media downplayed the victory by saying Cotto was shopworn and seen better days. Cotto's career is now back in full force, after knocking out Sergio Martinez last June for the WBC middleweight title and riding a three fight knockout streak.

    It's excuses for anyone you beat they even washed up or too green chalk it up as a lost cause

      It's not that he was washed up. It was the fact that he could have and should have fought him back in 2007 before he was stopped twice.

          They don't like you Floyd. For one reason or another, they will never like you Floyd. The credit you seek will never be given to you, for one reason or another. You can go up to 160, fight GGG & win, & you would then only be beating a "green" fighter. It is what it is.

            Why did you chose to not bring up the fact of Cotto's unwillingness to fight Floyd at that particular time? Why did you make that decision?

                100% agree. if he were to beat GGG, they would say "Golovkin is overrated, he's fought nothing but bums. who has he beat?"

                no-win situation for money may no matter who he fights.

                  Excuses always come and being a fan of his you kind of get used to it, look at the shoulder excuse recently, coincidentally something is always up when Mayweather comes out victorious right? Yeah

                    Lmao nobody is saying that except the GGG haters which the GGG fanboys will use as ammunition if he hypothetically lost. The GGG haters (or haters for any fighter) have BEEN saying that GGG has fought nobody but if the actual supports of that fighter say the same thing then they say they're crazy. Its whatever fits people's agenda on here.

                    Golovkin is the best Middleweight in the world and anyone who beats him gets credit.
