WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto got what he wanted. The Puerto Rican star wanted to take a break to spend time with his family and wasn't looking to go right back to camp for a September fight. Cotto's team is negotiation a fall showdown with Mexican sensation Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
With Floyd Mayweather Jr. receiving approval for a September 12th fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, everyone involved with Cotto-Canelo, including HBO, felt it was better to push it back to October or November. ESPN Deportes is reported that November 21 and November 28 are the two current working dates for the fight.
