I would flip it around. What kind of fighter would you pick to beat a fighter with a 75" reach, slow feet, little to no jab effectiveness, who wants to charge his opponent and fight inside to land hooks?
I would pick a long, rangy, jab fighter with good mobility who can frustrate the smaller fighter and tire him but popping him everytime he tries to get inside. Lo and behold what do we have here?

Wilder's footwork and inside fighting is awful and he is massively out strengthened by Povetkin so he can't even rough him up in the clinch. An aggressive top class come forward fighter is going to destroy Wilder. Hell even the current Arreola could crush him. Look at the success the God awful Molina had plodding forward occasionally while only throwing one or two punches at a time. A fast precise combination punching wizard like Povetkin is going to have a field day. Team Wilder can clearly see this too.

But the Wilder vs Stiverne, it's close as hell with Wilder having the edge IMO. But Carlos Takam was keeping up for a while, so did Huck. As rounds passed by, they started gassing out... while Povetkin keeps hammering them with uppercuts, swings, all in the inside game. Wilder was gassing out a bit in Molina's fight... The only person that can batter and slowdown povetkin is Wlad. Wilder is nowhere near as technical or skilled as Wlad.
It's gonna be the best HW fight in a LONG time, no doubt about it. Molina rocked Wilder with his punches lol, wobbled around quite a bit. Imagine Povetkin? I know for a fact Povetkin is much more powerfulLast edited by BOMB ZQUAD; 06-16-2015, 03:09 PM.

If Wlad and Wilder begin negotiations in late Sep before the deadline, Povetkin is on hold, just the way the rules work.
Heck even Tyson Fury tweeted to Wilder not to fight Povetkin and to wait until after he strips Wlad and then they can fight. Everyone knows which side the bread is buttered.
Wilder loses nothing by waiting to fight Povetkin and gains nothing by rushing to fight him. Better to let things play out and see if he can get a title shot in 2016. If not, he'll fight Povetkin and make a bunch of money doing it..
