Comments Thread For: Sulaiman: Klitschko vs. Wilder is One of The Biggest

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman expects a unification to eventually take place between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33KOs) and WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO king Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53KOs).

Wilder was back in the ring on Saturday and knocked out challenger Eric Molina in the ninth round. Klitschko has a WBO mandatory in the fall with Tyson fury and then likely has to make another mandatory defense or two.

Klitschko will need to have a lot more gray hair before the over-protective Al Haymon will let Wilder near him.

2017 ! Is this cracker high ? Wilder gonna be running into Wlad's arms as soon Povetkin is mandated. It's happening, not worry about it.

If he gets better and he beats Povetkin, Yes it is!

Wlad vs Fury is a big one as well.

Haymon? HBO is the one who positioned themselves to block this matchup.

Wlad beats Fury and Wilder. But Haymon will probably wait til Wlad is close to 45 til he allows Wilder to fight Wlad.

There's no certainty that this fight will even happen. Wilder is facing another voluntary opponent in Sept and then, barring a loss, will face Povetkin late 2015/early 2016. I'm a fan of Wilder but I'm not confident, at this moment, that he'll beat Povetkin.
