Comments Thread For: Walters: I Can Take Anybody's Punch After Donaire

NEW YORK – Nicholas Walters’ last fight taught him something important about his chin.

The unbeaten Jamaican featherweight isn’t worried about Miguel Marriaga’s power approaching their 12-round fight Saturday night in The Theater at Madison Square Garden (HBO; 10 p.m. ET) because he wasn’t affected by the heavy hands of Nonito Donaire. Walters (25-0, 21 KOs) dropped Donaire (34-3, 22 KOs) twice and won their Oct. 18 bout by sixth-round technical knockout at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

If Walters struggled to make weight he could be knocked down but I think he gets off the canvas and stops miguel in the later rounds in a thrilling fight

i think marriaga can KO walters. marriaga's power 100x better than donaire's and he is FARRRRRR more skillful than donaire with a bigger heart too.

Very naive approach to this fight. He might well have taken donaires best as he saw them coming but it's the ones u don't see coming that knock u out. Hope he's just saying this for self confidence and not going in thinking he doesn't have to use defence in this fight

            That's not how it works.

Donaire moved up and stiffened his legs big time with one punch. Bigger guys will feel they can take him out.

this dude has been delusional and is talking some garbage, donaire is overrated, walters is overrated and i hope the colombian puts his azz out, walters is a hype job, i've said it since he won that title, that belongs to Vetyeka to begin with, and im stickin to it, not being able to make 126 just saved his azz from the beating of his life courtesy of St. Lomachenko, Walters is a bum and ain't gonna be around too long
