Comments Thread For: Klitschko-Fury: Chelsea Makes a Play To Host Event

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea is making a play to host the fall heavyweight clash, between WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Tyson Fury, at Stamford Bridge in September or October.

Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium is also under consideration says the paper, but Stamford Bridge is currently a more likely option.

I think that it might be good form for Klitschko to have the fight in Britain, why not! He should agree, he'd make a tonne of money there with that fight too, no doubt!

    Both of them would!

It would be quite something to have Wlad - Fury superfight in a stadium. Probably makes the most financial sense too.

Have these stadiums got closable roofs? Because they haven't & the British weather acts as normal. there could be a problem!

There is quite a difference in potential attendance between the 2 stadiums isn't there? Something like 60'000 for the Emirates, and 40'000 for Stamford Bridge?

No, neither have. What happens if it rains the whole evening? Not impossible.

Let's be honest: this is happening in Germany.

The only thing that makes me wonder is ticket prices. German football fans pay a lot less than English football fans. Is the same true for boxing?
