canelo fight is a done deal the thing being worked on is the venue which is most likely vegas and the date which is probably November my cousin works (Does the cleaning on the night shift) with rocnation and her boss works (Does the cleaning at the Barclay) with the ceo of the Barclay which his twin brother works with rocnation (Helps with the cleaning by switching shifts when no one will notice) its set in stone cotto v.s canelo is happening and was agreed before he fought geale.

All fixed up now.

In hindsight, I bet Cotto wishes he'd taken Geale at the full 160. Cotto sure dominated him, but there's always gonna be that asterisk. Cotto looks a lot better his past 3 fights, but none of the 3 have been *healthy* A fighters. GGG has looked great, but he doesn't have an A fighter on his resume.

I'll still take GGG over Cotto, even at 154, but Cotto looked better than he has in a long time.

Why the urgency to fight each other so soon when there won't be a title on the line is beyond me. Maybe he should take a Canelo loss before he suffers from GGG's devastating left hook to the body. Cotto might be calling the shots, but neither option looks to promising from a pure boxing non monetary stand point. As for a rematch with the money man, he hasn't improved that much and he gassed out when he had his chance. At least Mayweather would have more balls to face GGG at Light middle weight than Cotto does at middle weight. I doubt that will happen as FM probably doesn't want to risk losing his zero in the loss column. Just saying.

its hard for me to ridicule cotto for his choices even though this fight against geale was somewhat of a farce or lets be kind and call it a tuneup

cotto is a warrior and one of the reasons i love boxing and i feel he has the right to choose his opponents now that hes at the end of his career. he is a first ballot hall of famer after all!

Golovkin is the No. 1 contender for the WBC title and the mandatory challenger, although WBC president Mauricio Sulaimon has said he is willing to make an exception for Cotto to fight Canelo Alvarez if he beats Geale. One condition for that exception, however, is that both Cotto and Alvarez must guarantee they will fight Golovkin next if they win.

Cotto does not appear enamored with that stipulation, and there is speculation he'd rather drop the WBC belt and fight Alvarez in a non-title bout if need be rather than face Golovkin.
