He won big when he needed to, happy for Cotto. I hope he makes a big fight for the fall. I was glad to see him match GGG's win over Geale with such a strikingly similar and strong performance.

Both Canelo or GGG would/will be very different fights.

I hope Floyd doesn't pluck Cotto up out of the mix? Although that rematch is still a good fight.

I just want to see GGG/Canelo/the next generation start to enter the frame in a bigger way.

      Floyd wasn't a chance?

I know what you mean, and you're right- Alvarez already got to be on the big stage. I just view Cotto and Floyd as both being on the elder side of the current era of fighters.

Alvarez was taught some valuable lessons by Floyd that he won't soon forget, I think he learned more about his character as a fighter and what he excels at from that experience.

I really want to see Canelo and Golovkin fight. Golovkin is no spring chicken at 33 though. I probably overstated things bit.

I guess we'll see Geale on ESPN pretty soon?

I get it, people like to see the new breed. It just felt like you thought Canelo never had a chance, he'll get another one. Which is fine. He's beat everyone in front of him which is all you can ask of a guy.

I agree, it was a very good performance.

Unfortunately it was tainted with the catchweight, but good nonetheless.

And good point, Mayweather could upset the Cotto/Canelo fight by selecting Cotto next, which will defer a potential matchup with Golovkin until late 2016/early 2017, should Cotto get by Canelo next year.

Yep, also..... Cotto/Canelo is the more appealing fight, to me anyways.

I don't want to see that rematch and I don't think a lot of people do. It would be different if Canelo wasn't around, but he is. A Cotto vs Canelo is WAY more appealing than a Cotto vs Mayweather II. I think Cotto vs Canelo does a lot more money too, with the Puerto Rico/Mexico rivalry. I also think it would have better action. Everything about Cotto/Canelo is better than Cotto/Floyd.

man Geale is such a disappointment, whenever things don't go his way he quits...

Absolutely, but that was not the question.

The question was not who will Cotto select, it was who will Mayweather select.

Cotto/Canelo is the fight I want more than any other, but that is not an option if Mayweather selects Cotto next.
