I just find it funny when UK fans downplay a Brook-Khan fight thats garnered interest from all over the boxing world, as if they dont want to see it, or know the fighter they root for would likely lose(Khan).. Its like fans not wanting to see Mayweather-Pacquiao. Which is just silly.

Brook-Khan is not only a huge domestic fight, it would also be for the only welterweight title not held by Mayweather and the winner would be FRONTRUNNER for the Mayweather fight
Yes, and Khan is known on both sides of the pond. Liked or not.

No body downplays Khan-Brook. Khan is ducking Brook, fact, I have no problem admitting that, but why are people dwelling on it? Fact, is now Brook will be judged accordingly as Khan for the opponets he picks, since he gets to call Amir a ducker.

Also Amir is holding for Mayweather, ******, but it will happen next summer.

As for the belts, I believe Mayweather is dropping them, so I don't see how the Unification argument is tempting to Floyd.

the only thing brook earned by beating bum ass gavin is a fight with berto.. he doesn't deserve to be in the same gym as mayweather, stop it
Khan was unavailable? Stop skipping through the timeline

Khan picked Brook AFTER he flat out refused to get in the ring with Brook

He even back peddled from the massive backlash and claimed the fight with Algieri wasnt even signed yet, and still went through with it anyway..

I dont want to see Brook vs Mayweather, Im not even talking about that fight... Im talking about Khan-Brook and the winner has a better case for a Mayweather fight

I said Brook is most deserving current Welterweight atm.. What has Thurman done? What are the other welterweights doing? Name me a significant win? Brooks win over Porter has been the most significant win by any of the current welterweights as I said before... The rest of the welterweight fights have been showcases and mismatches.

Thurman's win over Guerrero meant nothing. Mayweather's wins over Maidana meant nothing. Pacquiao's win over Algieri meant nothing...

If you could argue that one of the other welterweights have a more significant win than Brook, please go right ahead and refresh my memory... because if you narrow it down, Brook tops the list.. if you HAD to pick someone

But this kind of truth is too much for the deluded lot to suffer. Amir Khan said he was going to make a statement ....HE DID , ask Virgil Hunter what HE thought of the statement.... and then to call out Floyd....I didn't think Khan could make more of a fool of himself than he already has.

Lmao @ that^. Mayweather doesn't care about the UK, he doesn't care about what overseas fans want to see, and most certainly is not going into Brooks back yard for a fight where he is the A side and Brook is the Z side. If Mayweather cared about overseas fans he would have fought Khan instead of Maidana. Boxing may be an international sport but the reality is that the American market, especially PPV is what drives the sport. So no the fight would not be in the UK and is highly unlikely to be Brook.

Because we are Boxing fans and theres big fights we want to see.

To me personally, its no different than dwelling on Mayweather-Pacquiao, Ward-GGG, Stevenson-Kovalev, Cotto-Canelo.. its not to spite Khan.

This thread just happens to be about Brook, and Khan by association.

You're right, mayweather is dropping one of his belts so theres no unification either way, but Khan-Brook would have provided a clear opponent for the Mayweather-Pacquiao winner had it happened next weekend.

Doesnt matter now though, but if you twisted my arm, and I had to pick, Id say Brook is the most deserving fighter atm, and all the other welterweights are busy and cant make the September date except Khan and Brook

Brook is staying busy atleast, hes not wasting a year and THEN fighting tuneups like Ward does, and fighting 3 times in the span of 4 or 5 months against opponents hes "supposed" to beat is no different than what Golovkin is doing now.. and people droll over it, obvs because of his style though.

                  Brooks KO's Khan.

Brook's win over a blown up Lightweight in Frankie Gavin hasn't convinced me of this but rather Khan's inability to avoid shots from Algieri in particular the straight right hand. Kell's straight right is one of his favourite shots and he throws it with power and accuracy.

I do however question Kell's refusal to fight stiffer competition. Khan is obviously using the floyd Mayweather "risk vs reward" option where Kell's concerned, but Kell has to fight better opposition than the shít he's been fighting recently.

Based on Khans win and considering Brooks performance, i think Khans earned a chance to fight in an eliminator to get a shot at the IBF strap. 1st things 1st, Khan needs to start working his way up the welter weight ranks so he can put himself in position for a title shot.

I agree with your post for the most part.

Id argue that its just a strange transition period in the welterweight division.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are almost retired and the vacant spots are all left for up and coming fighters that promoters have long term plans for, and arent eager to throw them in together yet.. I dont agree with it, but I do realize thats whats happening.

Theres a similar situation at 154 pounds with the Charlos, Andrade, Julian Williams, Canelo etc.. They are going to fight the K9s, Ishe Smiths, Angulos of the division long before they fight one another
