Comments Thread For: Kovalev: I'm Waiting To Welcome Andre Ward To 175

Fight fans are already beating the drums for a future fight between world champions Gennady "GGG" Golovkin and Andre Ward.

But another anticipated fight is slowly build steam as well, between Ward (27-0, 14KOs) and WBA/IBF/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (27-0-1, 24KOs).

Ward was last seen in the ring in November 2013, but he makes his return on June 20th when he faces middleweight contender Paul Smith.

The fight with Smith could be a sign that Ward is considering the possibility of moving up to the light heavyweight limit. The match is contracted for a catch-weight of 172-pounds.

I don't see this fight happening within the next year or so if Ward moves up. Ward will take a couple of tune ups at Lt. Heavy before he challenges Krusher. Ward has always shown to be a man that moves at his own pace and does what's best for Ward regardless of what the boxing public thinks.

Can't wait! After ward fights ggg in his next fight, he should take one fight at 175 and then fight Kovalev

i want to see this fight bad i actually want to see ward fight some of the monsters at 175 i think andre ward can and will win. he can fight kov stevenson fanfora pascal bute he has plenty people but i really wish ggg would fight him before he moves up to 175 but i think its obvious at this point ggg team knows if ward beats him in a "boring fight" it will crush the money train. right now ggg is riding the invisible super man wave of money and tho hell always be big till he retires ward winning would crush it. the thing tho is if they believe ggg has a chance to win and he beat ward he would be a superstar.

but i got to admit i want to see ward kovalov just as bad im just afraid if it happens ward ggg never does and i feel thats the best fight of top fighters in the sport. obviously ggg canelo is entertainment gold but man were talking about arguably #1 #2 p4p within 2 years the fight would be awesome

You gonna be waiting a long time homie, all these spoiled boxers are creating their own weight divisions to avoid people.

                  Canelo 155
                  Garcia 143
                  Ward 172
                  Broner 144
                  mayweather 152

mean while real fighters like rosado who jump a division nevermind that he was #1 contender in his division to fight the biggest challenge at 160 that none of the fighters have balls to do, gets clowned on.

The sport dont respect real fighters anymore, they respect cowards as long as they perform.
