I think one or two tuneup fights are enough. He's certainly earned a "pass" based on his resume, though. There are fighters who face much worse competition but whose fans let it slide.

So five and a half years between live opponents is all right for top fighters?

Ok. Personally I think thats far too long, but to each his own.

He hasn't had a good fight in ****ing ages, if he follows your suggestion then he would have had three tuneups in a row! That's pathetic and he shouldn't earn a pass, **** his resume, what has he done lately?

Five and a half years with no live opponents? What are you talking about?

Edwin Rodriguez was undefeated and a top contender at super middleweight when Ward beat him. Not to mention Chad Dawson. This is some weak trolling on your part and very unbecoming for a mod.

He does need a tune up but...
Based on resume? It's not all that. People need to quit assuming Ward's resume is great.

Rodríguez was .... Undefeated. Yes. Thats it. Thats what he was. Undefeated counts. It doesn't matter against who apparently. Dawson was drained like a raisin after 3 hours in the oven and had been KO'ed the week before by Miranda. So yeah. Lots of live opponents since Froch.

Just remember to use the same standard for others so we can see that you are not a petty nuthugger.
