You can't seriously believe that Miguel Cotto would quit that fight after lasting to 12 with a vicious Manny Pacquiao. Are you sure you're not mixing up Cotto with Ortiz?

Mind you, Pacquiao is likely 3X as fast as GGG and as I said, the Cotto that fought Pac was a shell compared to the Cotto that fought Martinez in terms of combos and defensive fighting. That speed difference is the key.

      Canelo's threshold > Cotto's threshold. Not debatable.
Really? Are we talking about the same Miguel Cotto who's gotten up from every knock down, then came back and obliterated those opponents? The same Cotto that got battered by bricks for 11.5 rounds, never actually went down, but took a knee and still got up until his corner stopped it? The same Miguel Cotto who walked through everything Pac had and Pac still couldnt knock him out? The same Miguel Cotto who fought the majority of his career with a torn right shoulder with scar tissue that wasnt repaired until the Forman fight?

      AND...

Are you talking about Saul Alvarez who almost got knocked out by Jose Cotto who jumped up not one but two divisions? The same Alvarez who basically quit and didnt have the heart, skill, or knowledge to fight harder in the biggest fight of his career? The same Alvarez who pulled out of a fight for a twisted ankle that took supposedly over 5 months to heal?

LOL, Yeah I remember what Balboa said, and he sure as hell wasnt referring to Canelo Alvarez. On top of that he wasnt even talking about boxing he was talking about life!

As far as the headhunting I feel that favors GGG against both Cotto and Canelo. Cotto comes in head down and forward with very little head movement unless he's specifically trying to dodge a punch. Canelo leans back, he doesn't do lateral movement well, and GGG closes distance wonderfully.

The jab though is the problem. Cotto and Canelo are both effective jab fighters, especially Cotto. In Cotto's case he uses the jab interchangeably with a feint to a hook or a cross. He's also an effective combo puncher once he's got a sense of vulnerability. Canelo uses his jab to cause his opponent to make a mistake so he can counter (like Floyd would do, but Canelo is way slower).

I feel that the reason Roy thinks GGG takes it is that for GGG, it only takes one or two solid punches causing his opponents to get cautious before he takes control of the fight (Monroe). What I think he's missing is that Cotto can take solid punches (Pacquiao), and the Cotto that faced Pac was not nearly the same boxer that faced Martinez.

My opinion? Cotto/GGG goes the distance with Cotto eeking out a victory. Canelo/GGG ends with GGG stopping Canelo.
Did you just compare Cotto taking pac's punches and put them on the same level as GGG's power punches?

Now I have heard everything, you DKSAB.

GGG will cut the ring on Cotto and the dancing will end.

You don't need to be knocked out, to be hurt and swatted like a fly.

Ah, the good ole Jose Cotto defense. I'm glad you could find ONE fight, from 5-years ago to nail your point home in which a 19 YEAR OLD was stunned. Impressive work there. Bravo buddy. Bravo.

Aye doe, Holla at me when Alvarez takes a knee, or gets spun like a top. We'll chat about it.
