Canelo-GGG happens and the fight will sell out in 10 minutes. Who cares about PPV numbers, I'm not a promoter, manager and businessman. I'm a boxing fan and want to see the best fight the best.

Now HBO and Golden Boy want to stage their own "megafight". What's all that crap DLH and Lampley saying about making the best fights and not playing the marinating game.
How many PPVs has GGG sold as the only star on the card or the A-side of the fight?

You might not care, but a fighter and promoter should care because that's how they make their money. A fight with Cotto and even Chavez Jr. makes more sense financially for Canelo and GBP than GGG.

Canelo needs to have a legit fight at 160 against a solid opponent before moving up to fight GGG.

Damn I wish GGG was still in his 20's. Probably won't want to wait too long on this one - maybe summer or fall 2016. Has to be at a time where Canelo can no longer make his CW's and this becomes the obvious fight. Hard for some fans to draw the direct line from CAnelo to GGG because they aren't in the same division right now, so the demand isn't quite there. As individuals they are in demand, yes..but Cotto lingering out there is pulling fans in different directions at the moment so there is no fight that seems to be the one we all agree on.

GGG has moved into a bigger venue after setting a record at Stub Hub in his fight fight there...lets see what the attendance is on Sat. GGG is in his 30's, giving his style and aggression, don't want aging skin /cuts or age to catch up with him before this can happen and taint this matchup. I hope this fight gains steam starting Sat (full steam ahead after a Canelo/Cotto)

Cotto and Canelo also need an A side fighter for a fight to be PPV or a career high payday. Last night was not a high payday for Canelo nor was it PPV and Cotto's next fight will not fit either of those criteria either. There are only two fighters who make a fight a PPV on their own and guarantee an opponent a career high payday and that is Floyd and Pac.

How many PPVs have Cotto or Canelo sold as the only star on the card? That would be NONE.

And Canelo does not have to have a legit fight at 160 against a solid opponent to qualify to challenge for the lineal middleweight title? Do you realize how bogus that is? Canelo has done nothing to deserve a MW title fight, whether against Cotto or Golovkin or Lee or even the winner of Lemieux-N'Dam. Not a damn thing. He is not a 154 title holder moving up. He is just another fighter with a bright future.

Love cotto but canelo crushes him. 10rds at best. GGG on the other hand, would be much more interesting. Canelo wants to get gritty with fighters and I think he relies on his toughness a bit too much at this point. To move up and fight someone as strong, polished and smart as golovkin right now would be ******. Let canelo clean out the division first and then start thinking about moving up and taking on bigger challenges.

I see a lot of excuses as to why Canelo shouldnt fight golovkin.

Are these guys boxing fans or wannabe promoters smh.

I find it funny people saying that canelo v GGG doesnt make financial sense but didnt canelo just fight kirkland who has a very limited fan base, absolutely ridiculous fanboy logic.

GGGvCanelo WILL NOT do May-Pac numbers!!! Oscar is crazy!!!! And Canelo can't make 154 comfortably, so his body is already tell him to move up. GGG is the reason he hasn't moved up, he just told us now.

They're not going to fight. Maybe if GGG gets some majory injuries when hes 40, like Martinez.

But Canelo is not going to end his career to GGG. Cotto, Canelo, will not fight GGG. Nobody wants to get hit with a wrecking ball.
