Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Pacquiao, You Will Never Be On My Level

Three days after scoring a unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao in a virtuoso performance on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather Jr. was displeased with the excuses coming from the Filipino’s camp. Both fighters were amicable after the fight, but Mayweather didn’t care for Pacquiao insisting a shoulder injury was the primary reason for his loss.

The disdain for the excuses coming from that side of the promotion only grew by the time he sat down with Showtime’s Jim Grey for an exclusive post-fight interview. The segment aired for the first time in its entirety Saturday evening on Showtime, which immediately followed the rebroadcast of last week’s headliner.

Manny Pacquiao’s shoulder was examined via MRI 14 days before the May 2, 2015 fight and the results were a “severe tear in the right rotator cuff muscle. Not that the fight result would have changed, but the fight would have been honest and not a rip off. Manny shame on you.

Pacquiao will always be looked at as inferior to Mayweather from now on. There isn't even a debate anymore.

Love when he starred into the camera and told Pacquiao its OK to be second, its OK to be behind me. That reaches your soul. I cant imagine Pacquiao watching that without hanging his head

Fighters in my opinion who would have beat Mayweather at their best: Hearns (reach and power), Leonard (just great/fast), Duran (vicious), Armstrong (just great) next welterweights that would trouble Floyd.

Welterweights that would cause Floyd problems because of style: Vernon Forrest (reach and decent speed), Marlon Starling (that defense), Trinidad (because of loaded gloves/plus low blows) not that I think anyone of these would beat Floyd but cause problems.

Yeah, People who write Floyd off against those fighters since "They were around first" and nostalgia is sweet, forget that you cant hit what you cant see and Mayweather can make a great fighter look basic.

I would love to see prime Floyd vs. prime Pernell Whitaker. Two defensive geniuses...who could solve the other first?
