Comments Thread For: Atlas: Mayweather-Pacquiao 2? Never Again! No Way!

ESPN broadcast analyst Teddy Atlas is not in favor of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Atlas was ringside last Saturday night in Las Vegas, watching Mayweather win a twelve round unanimous decision over Pacquiao.

There has now been talk of a rematch in 2016, after Pacquiao revealed that he came into the contest with a pre-existing right shoulder injury. Pacquiao further injured himself during the fight and had surgery on the injury on Wednesday.

Pac said HE WILL NOT GIVE Floyd the rematch until he recovers from the severe injury that might take a year. Floyd has to wait to get this pressure off his shoulders of being beat / in a close fight with a one arm Pac. Floyd has to wait in line.

I never thought I would say this but I agree with Teddy here.

#48 looked like an amateur fighter last week. No need for a rematch

I agree. The mystique is gone. Pac looked like an amateur.

People thought pac could do what he does and instead realized floyd is just to good for him.

I loved the event in vegas. Stayed away from the pool party madness you see on youtube but the atmosphere was like nothing ive felt

Pretty much how I felt when I was in Vegas for Pacquiao / Cotto. It was spectacle throughout, especially going to the weigh in where it was a free for all for seats.

If Pacquiao was unwilling to put it all on the line when it mattered most, why should I expect him to in a rematch?

Wasn't Floyd the lead promoter? If you feel that way Teddy, talk to Floyd.

Give Thurman his chance. He will actually try to win.
