      good thread.

i don't recall where i read this information, and i apologize if someone else has already mentioned it, but i remember hearing about how when Paulie was set to face Hatton someone from Manny's camp (Roach maybe) said that they wanted to fight Hatton next. This apparently upset Paulie because it made it sound like they weren't even considering the possibility that he might win the fight. In retrospect Paulie's indignation is a little bit comical since he ended up getting straight up blitzkrieged by Hatton. I just think that bitterness has stayed with him all these years.

Paulie's overwhelming bias against Manny has actually changed my perception of him a great deal. For a while I was a big fan, because I like him as a boxer (I know...I'm in the minority) and as a commentator, but he is so unnecessarily harsh and focused on tearing down Manny at every opportunity it just doesn't sit well with me. It's clearly something way beyond the su****ion of performance enhancers. There's no other fighter that he goes after so relentlessly, not even guys who have *failed* drug tests. Plus he's working with Memo for God's sake! And it's pretty ridiculous too because you know Manny is not the type to pay attention or get angry and strike back. So he feels safe, like he can say whatever he wants with no repercussions.

Rather than not being relevant to Manny, Paulie's explanation is that everything he's saying is true and that's why Manny hasn't sued him lol (completely ignoring Pac's legal action against FMJ on the same issue).

For instance, let's say that Andre Ward hated Pacquiao with a vengeance like Paulie does. It wouldn't lead to anything because they aren't even close in weight. Nothing could come from it. Pac and Andre would just have to accept the fact that nothing will happen but a war of words. However, in Paulie's situation, something CAN come from it. They CAN fight. They're in the same weight class and probably both dislike each other. That is, if in fact, if Pacquiao even knows who Paulie is.
When was it ever okay for Paulie to fight Pacman or Mayweather? He's not in their class. I'm sure Paulie would like to fight Pac since he's in it for the money. But that's really the fight in demand right now? I really don't think Manny would get credit for fighting Paulie. And he shouldn't. Does nothing for his resume. You're telling Paulie to man up and fight Pac? As if promoters are dying to make that fight? Like that's the fight that makes sense right now? Just because they're in the same weight class, don't mean they should fight. Paulie and Zab are gatekeepers now. Even if Paulie chased Pacquiao, it would never happen. Shannon Briggs is literally chasing Wladimir. But sometimes some things just aren't going to happen. I like Paulie more as a commentator and a fight analyst. Which is what he is doing. It would be one thing if he was wrong about the fight. But he was 100% correct. So there you go.

I guess the truth hurts, you have 101 American born journalists or analyst making negative comments about Mayweather day in day out for years you plebs laugh about it, you have one guy who isn't up manny behind and you guys cry about it, for years Paulie was telling you plebs how is it in the boxing world but you come out with the same stan **** "Oh Paulie wants attention, oh Paulie want a payday, oh Paulie hate Pac, oh Paulie is just trolling, oh Paulie am going to go watch your fight with cotto"... Like that guy gives a toss about a bunch of losers on here.

He gets his words heard and that goes around the world, he said it would be easy work and he bet his watch on it and guess what it was easy work.

He called Pac a sore lose and guess what Pac was a sore loser, so far he has been right about Pac like 97% of the time, from the Ped scenario to him being a sore loser, you plebs can make threads and cry a river all you want but you are not going to silence or pay off Paulie.

                  I agree 100%

He was right about Pacquiao on the PED stance, and hes right about Pacquiao being a sore loser, because Pacquiao truly turned out to be a sore loser

Everyone can bash Mayweather, and laugh it up but god forbid someone is critical of Pacquiao.. and this isnt just on the forum, we're also talking about the media

Paulie always keeps it real, and calling him bitter or a hater is just to discredit that

Just take my word for it.

I have video of it. Back when it was the iPhone 3 days and before Roach implemented his no video or photography policy at the gym. I really don't want to bother digging through my old computer to dig up the video file.

I'm sure you can easily google info on Paulie's workouts at Manny's gym.

There is a black guy who was Roach's assistant for the Manny vs De La Hota fight. I forget his name. That's who was coaching Paulie at the Wild Card. Maybe Paulie is also bitter because he went to Wild Card to work with Roach and Paulie was just treated like a nobody.

And has pac ever called him out? Ever challenged Paulie for all the accusatons? If anyone should be pushing for the fight it should be pac.
Paulie isn't on the level of Pacquaio, skillwise or in popularity. He's a feather fisted fighter who is well past his best days. Even an old surgery recovering Pacquiao would be a 10-1 favorite. You can't sell that on PPV, and the two of them have network conflicts as well. There really is no upside for Manny in the real world.
