Comments Thread For: Khan: Floyd Mayweather Looked Great in Pacquiao Win

As previously reported, Amir Khan insists he would be ready to fight Floyd Mayweather in September if a showdown can be agreed with the undisputed welterweight champion.

Mayweather confirmed after outpointing Manny Pacquiao on Sunday that he will retire once he completes his six-bout deal with Showtime, with his final outing set to be in four months' time in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old has revealed for the first time that with this year's Ramadan finishing on July 17, he would be able to complete his training camp in time to face the pound-for-pound king.

Breathe through your nose Khan and try not to gag...and Ramadan, for the first time ends in July? Did he just hear about this today? What a joke. And people tear Christianity apart in this country. Anyways, Mayweather gets his first legit knockout in 8 years.

I don't think you understand what Ramadan is. It's a month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which uses a different dating system to the Christian Gregorian solar calendar we use. Lunar years are shorter than solar years, so the dates for Ramadan on a lunar calendar is going to slowly shift every year on a solar calendar.

Khan’s been told his speed beats Floyd and he’s held onto that belief at the expense of his own progression. It’s very sad really, always standing in another man’s shadow. You’d imagine someone with that much ego would have more self respect.

pac had minor soreness in his right arm leading into the fight that doctors said didn't require an injection. according to arum he's been having that same soreness since the oscar fight? that puts to rest the "he came in with a completely torn arm" lies.

            exposed................

as for the topic. khan is correct. mayweather did mayweather. it was pac that was suppose to take mayeather out of his comfort zone. but instead he failed worse then fighter like judah who everyone always makes fun of............

Khan simply does not deserve this fight.

Who exactly does deserve this fight? Mayweather doesn't have many options to be fair. GGG would be the most interesting fight out there but I can't see that fight ever being made, nor can I see him coming down to Light Middleweight. That leaves Khan, Thurman, Bradley and Brook.

A fight with Brook could've been a full unification fight for all 4 Welterweight titles but Mayweather has given up his titles. Brook is still a nobody in the US and other than Porter doesn't have many notable wins.

Thurman is decent but other than Guerrero who has he really been tested against? I think Mayweather would deal with him just as he dealt with Maidana, Cotto and Alvarez.

Bradley had a great win against Marquez and was robbed in his last fight against Chavez but he was poor both times against Pacquiao and I don't see HBO and Showtime coming together to make that fight happen like they did for Mayweather Vs Pacquiao.

Khan is always in an exciting fight and puts everything on the line (sometimes too much). I think out of the 4 viable options Mayweather has, Khan makes the most sense and would probably make him the most money. He doesn't really deserve the fight but he's the best of a bad bunch. He's coming off a great win against Alexander and he has a lot more notable wins than the other guys. I actually think if the fight were to happen - Mayweather would stand a good chance of KO'ing Khan in the later rounds but If the KO didn't come then it would be an interesting fight, certainly more competitive and closer than the Pacquiao fight. Khan has only ever lost on points to Peterson and that was after being deducted 2 pts for pushing, controversy over the scorecards being altered and Peterson being on PED's.

And yet, before the Pacquiao fight most would have argued that Pac was faster than Mayweather..... and that his speed will be the difference.

Mayweather would outclass Khan, the same way he outclassed Pacquiao.

                    Shht fight !

                    Khan doesnt deserve it.
