Exposing the inaccuracy of Compubox

    What's funny is everybody agrees that CompuBox is a waste of time. But what is accurate usually is the number of punches thrown.

    But nobody is claiming Floyd won because of CompuBox. He won because he was the ring general, landed cleaner, more effective punches, neither guy was the effective aggressor and he had better defense.

    Pac's lack of volume is a product of Floyd's ring generalship, effective punching and defense.

    In other words, when you actually follow the rules of scoring a professional prize fight, it turns out to be a ****ing clinic.

      I'm not saying he's right or wrong, but pick a round and compare your stats with daggum's.
      OK

      My Total

      Floyd=6

      Compubox

      Floyd=11
      Manny=6

      I'm not seeing how they got so many punches from floyd. Guy clicking the button was on speed perhaps?
      I'll just do Mayweather power shots for this round to show you this guys blindness.

      5:31 - Left hook
      5:40 - Straight right
      5:43 - Straight right
      6:31 - Straight right
      7:18 - Straight right
      7:47 - Straight right

      Compubox scored 6 power punches (the correct score), Daggum scored 3.

          I disagree that Compubox is a waste of time. I think it gives the best representation currently available of punches thrown and landed during a fight. I would never think of using it to score a fight on it's own but look at it as one of many tools available.

          As viewers we are able to watch a fight from a number of different angles including replays. Judges only see it from one angle and get no replays. The same with a punch counter. Perhaps Compubox should start doing a final punch count after looking at a recorded broadcast which would be more accurate.

          As long as there are human beings involved in either punch counting or judging, it will be less than perfect. Boxing has survived all these years with all it's imperfections and I think it will continue to survive long after we have all passed on.

            lol, you actually count that left hook as a punch?

            that right hand @ 5:43 is the best right alongside the right in the first round that floyd landed in the fight

              I think that reporter lost his bet on the fight.

                Your video doesn't work. Try this and buy some new glasses. Still painful to watch these replays when nothing f*king happens!

                  It was a left hook that landed did it not?

                    Except that Pacquiao received it at full extension. Not much impact there. Floyd had a left jab was the best scoring punch in this round.

                    Incredible how you have to search these videos to find a telling shot!
