WBC/WBO/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. told ESPN reporter Stephen A. Smith in a text on Tuesday that he would be open to the idea of a rematch after Manny Pacquiao recovers from his scheduled shoulder surgery to repair a tear in his rotator cuff.

The controversy revolves around Pacquiao entering the fight with a pre-existing right shoulder injury and not disclosing that information to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
