I was pulling for Pac last night but he clearly lost. Floyd deserves all the credit that comes with winning. Sad to see a lot of guys who post daily on a boxing forum not give any respect to Floyd and other guys who won't give any to Manny (and you can find both of these groups of haters in this very thread).

Both are ATGs in my opinion. The only way I can see someone saying they aren't is because their definition of ATG is different then mine as far as how many fighters in history can be considered an ATG before it's too many.

Unless Pac fails his drug test, this loss can't get any worse. It was a boxing clinic. Not even close.

After all the talk, pre fight game planning, and hype leading into the fight, all we saw was that it ended up being a bunch of hogwash. Pac was suppose to overwhelm floyd with volume, speed, power and combos from every angle imaginable. The few times pac actually did what his camp was predicting him to do, he was effective, but clearly unsustainable. Floyd adjusted, pac didnt. There was no plan b or c. I was waiting to see pac sell out and bulldoze floyd with punch output, but that never happened and what i saw was floyd implement his will over pac. Manny had his opportunity at cementing his already amazing career and ultimately blew it. He was bested by a master of his craft. To quote Mike Tyson, "everyone has a gameplan till they get punched in the face."

          Perspective is a funny thing.....

          This is an expectation/realisation issue.

I watched the fight again last night with a friend.

          We are both Mayweather supporters.

We are both genuine boxing fans, and have been for a looooong time.

My friend is a big Pacquiao detractor, he doesnt like Manny at all.

After the fight, he said this....

Pac is an amazing fighter, that was a great performance, I never thought he would be able to take rounds off Mayweather..... he made the fight all night long, but just struggled because of Mayweathers skill and precision.

I never thought I would hear him talk like that about Pac.

The reason is..... he did not have high expectations of Manny, heading into that fight...... so, he was quite impressed.

Folks who had huge expectations on Manny will be a litttle disappointed.

Pacquiao with his catchweight nonsense in several fights while he ignored the loud and real challenges from a then prime Sergio Martinez who offered to meet him at 150. His avoidance of Shane Mosley until he was clearly a shell that was being constantly urged to retire.

Mayweather is even worse, only picking fighters at a size disadvantage with styles that force them to chase after him - remember how he avoided Paul Williams like the plague? Even the limited but at the time scary (and bigger) Antonio Margarito? He even avoided an unbeaten Cotto, retiring because he claimed he had no challenges left - something pointed out by an incredulous Larry Merchant at the time. He then fought him only after Cotto had been beaten up twice and looked shopworn. Guess he had become a "challenge" by then. He fought the smaller Maidana because he saw him throttled by Alexander; he took on the green Canelo Alvarez after seeing him struggle with Austin Trout; the smaller Pacquiao because he saw him get flattened by Marquez. Now he vacates all of his belts so he can avoid the threat of a rejuvenated (and bigger) Amir Khan. My prediction is he'll stay true to form and pick the badly exposed, coming up in weight, Danny Garcia for September before someone else at 147 can capitalize and beat Garcia.

Mayweather is a great overall talent but Greatest of all time over Ali and Robinson? Are you kidding me? Even Sugar Ray Leonard rates ahead of him for taking on ALL comers, even when they were at the peak of their careers. Mayweather would never have accepted a bout at 147 with an unbeaten Hearns. In fact, this is something Mayweather has NEVER done despite his fans and Stephen A. Smith being so deeply embedded up his backside you need a colonoscopy to find them.

Isn't that a catchweight? Would you not be saying Sergio was beaten up for being weight-drained like DLH?
