Oh yeah, this fight also proves Maidana is better than Pacquiao.

I lost ALL respect for this man. As a boxer and a human being. All of that crap about being humble and loving Jesus is just for cameras. The guy is truly a piece of sh-t.
Hopefully there's no rematch, this scum doesn't deserve another payday like that.
Atleast Manny TRIED to fight.
In my PERSONAL opinion I'd have Manny winning the fight because MAyweather ran like a scared little ***** the whole time, exactly as expected.
Of course it's boxing and it's a valid approach but I don't think you can call Manny "scared" when the other ****er wont even exchange.

He went to the Chavez jr. school of excuse making....only thing left to do is say that he came in as a heavyweight.

Mayweather threw more punches, landed almost twice as many and utterly schooled him.

This is what wrong with boxing. Judges don't give enough credit to aggressors.
Sure if Floyd was popping Manny heaps, I give it to Floyd but Floyd land a couple meh shots and was running all night.
Mayweather can go shove his earning up his a ss.

Especially when one is fighting a defensive runner. That is what ticked me off about the so-called experts and tonight's commentators. They think a fighter can cutt-off the ring when its 25ft ring and throw 80 punches a round against a defensive runner in a 25ft ring. It is impossible no matter how good of an offensive fighter one is. You can't force another fighter to stay still, you cannot hold them and make them stay put. It is impossible to keep a high punch output in these circumstances.
As for Mayweather all of a sudden he comes along and overturns decades of boxing thought and that is changing the rule that offense wins fights to defense wins fights. Yes, defense is part of the scoring, but it is the least important part of scoring and counts the least. All of a sudden throwing 35 punches per rd wins u a fight if you land 50% of them. But that is only a pathetic 17 punches per rd. Even the great defensive master Pernell Whitaker had an amazing offense. Hector Comacho later in his career did what Floyd did and judges would not give him the fights and pundits would criticize him for it. Defense was the least important part of scoring. It was always a huge deal that Willie Pep was once given a round just soley based on defense when he won a rd without throwing a punch that is because defense was thought of so little when scoring a rd.
This needs to change; no more 25ft rings, no more giving defense so much weight and no more allowing a fighter to win based on an avg of throwing 35 punches per rd.
Also, I am sick of these fighters who fight Mayweather and give him everything he wants. One thing Manny should of never allowed was a ring that large. That is what killed Maidana in the rematch and that is what was a huge part of Manny losing tonight. Another big issue is Manny is way past his prime and Floyd is not. Smaller fighters have shorter primes, especially fighters like Manny and if u recall Floyd took a 2 yr layoff from the sport which helped him stay younger. This fight should of happened 5 yrs ago and since it did not it should of never happened. Hell, I recall when Sugar Ray fought Terry Norris and he was 35yrs of age and all the boxing pundits never like to really count that fight because Ray was past his prime they would say. Sugar Rays career was never as taxing as Manny's career and Manny is a year older that when Ray lost to Norris.
The funniest thing being that you just raved about offense and Mayweather not throwing punches, being just defense and nothing else....BUT....BUT...GET THIS.....
Floyd Mayweather threw more punches than Manny Pacquiao. All that stuff you just said? All flies straight out the window.
Floyd threw more punches all up.
Floyd landed more punches too.
Floyd also got hit with significantly less.
Threw more punches. That's what you said should be the focus right and what should win you the fight? Well,a Floyd threw more, so you've just inadvertently admitted you think Floyd won. Not what you set out to do is it? Haha.
Second; the ring is the same one that has been used by both fighters in many of their previous fights, Pac vs Marquez IV was fought using this ring, and it's a 20 foot ring, not 25 you ******. You're just making **** up. The ring is 24 feet, all up. They fight in the standard 20 foot ring and with a two foot apron. 20 foot ring, 24 foot with apron. Absolutely normal sized ring that Pac has literally fought most of his recent bouts in. It's the exact same ring.
Defense has always been as big a part of boxing as offense. It's just harder to do, so most focus on offense. Boxing at its core is 'hit and don't get hit' in equal measure.
Floyd hit manny and didn't get hit as much in return. That is boxing at its best. If you throw a punch and it misses everything and just hits the air around a fighter, it's no different than having not thrown a punch at all. If it doesn't score, it means absolutely nothing. So all those punches that were missing were as good as if Pac hadn't even thrown them...a missed punch is a useless punch.
You're just full of ridiculous bias, but you don't win fights by missing punches. Mayweather landed more punches. It's that simple. Pac could have thrown 2000 punches, but if a Mayweather still lands more because Pac missed all of them, he might as well have throw only the few he landed, because the others did not land. That means they were not scoring. They were useless. It's not usually a hard concept to grasp for a normal adult.Last edited by BennyST; 05-03-2015, 07:52 AM.

As a huge Manny fan I feel no shame in saying that Floyd Money Mayweather is the greatest and most complete fighter I've ever seen. I wish he had tested himself out more because I'm convinced he'd easily be the goat if he did. Manny you've done us proud champ enough of the excuses please.
