Cotto was still a champ at 147 and a guy who had previously beaten Mosley, so it's not that clear cut. My point is this, Pacquiao was moving up to fight one of the titlists at 147, he did not hold any belts there. It's common practice for a smaller guy to move into a division and fight a champ at CW. Pacquiao defended his belt without catchweights apart from quite possibly the Bradley rematch.

You can't be a champion in the division, or the so called "lineal" champ and then be asking for catchweights against guys who are supposed to be in your weight division. It's ****** and Cotto is a clear diva.

That's one way of looking at it, but he never really complained about what Manny did, he just said he wasn't in a position to not face him at 145 he accepted it. Someone really stated it earlier already in that if you're the A side you get any advantage you can. That literally is boxing and always has been.

GGG would agree in an instant to face Cotto even at 155 for MW lineal title. However would it be easy for Cotto to drop down to 155? I now doubt it. Cotto could've requested for Geale to come down to 155, but he didn't. Probably Cotto feels it would be hard to return to junior middleweight. He designed his own weight class at 157-159, because it is ideal for him. Hence all the talk about being a "small middleweight".
