thats because pac wasnt trying to beat marquez on points like u floyd. this was an end to a brutal rivalry and pac wanted to make a statement. shame it back fired on him but i respected manny more for doing this than if he were to get ko trying to cover up.

The reason why there were FOUR fights was because Manny couldn't beat Marquez.

4th fight was the charm and we have a clear winner.

let's not pretend marquez wasn't about to get stopped when pac got caught.

when manny asked for a rematch, jmm said "**** you. i'm better than you!" and proceeded to fade into obscurity, much like how he did when mab, em, and pac were fighting each other way back.

the great jmm, his claim to fame is being 1-1-2 against Pacquiao.

Mayweather is right...That's why Pac got KTFO! He was careless.

Pacquiao is fucking crazy, you'd think that would have convinced him but he kept on pressing.

There's no need to pretend about something nobody knows for sure was going to happen. You ASSUME Marquez was about to be stopped but we'll never know. The "I was winning until you knocked me out" argument is lame.

Another inaccuracy is that Marquez refused another fight. He wanted 50/50 after knocking Pacquiao cold and Top Rank said no. THEN Marquez told them to do one.

He made a statement by being careless, and reckless, which is the point Floyd is making. I always amazed to hear these types of comments, when this is a brutal sport whereas you can be permanently hurt.

The Merchants, and Lampley's of this world forget it's called the "sweet science", which focus on hit and not be hit. Most of the fans associate boxing with the backyard fights. That's one of the reason for my disdain for Roach. He says he will protect his fighter's health. If that's the case, why put your fighter in such a position by continuing to be reckless, why not focus on his defensive flaws so he'll have a life after his career.

Freddie knows Manny flaws, and at this point, if anyone believes he will have those corrected by May 2nd, is dreaming. So, what does he do? He tries to motivate his fighter and fans thru crazy comments to the media. He tries to confuse the fans with saying Floyd's legs are shot, yet he moved very well against Madiana in the 2nd fight. Reports of Manny sparring only using his left hand for muscle memory. Hell, if it's that easy, couldn't you have Manny throw punches without dropping his hands. Does muscle memory apply to this?

I applaud Bob Arum for his role in putting Manny's career in the HOF, and Freddie understanding how he can gIve his fighter an advantage with catch weights. Greatest hype job in all of boxing in my opinion. Get knockout, and again fools the fans by having Manny fight the punching bag Rios, and the inexperienced Algeri. ALL MANNY FANS ARE SAYING HE'S BACK!!!

People on this forum says Manny will be aggressive against Floyd. How, he can't jump in, Floyd controls distance, he's always on balance, and he fights with his eyes. Forget the straight right or check hook. Watch the body work. He'll slow him down and walk him down in the late rounds. That is what they mean by systematically breaking a fighter down.

Yes, Manny will come to fight, they will have a game plan, hell, they will have a plan b and c. But if he cannot initiate his offense, by getting into punching distance, where do he go next? Get him in round 1 or 2, because Floyd is going to stand right in front of him, to get his timing. This will be Lewis vs Tyson all over.

manny was never obligated to give marquez a rematch yet he did anyway

To a large part Pac's defence is his offence; its not infallible but it works 99% of the time
-he's not an 8 division champ for nothing

Reading between the lines sounds like Mayweather is slightly fearful

Not sure if you can link this in the US but its a great radio interview with Ray Leonard talking about the build up to the Hagler fight. 60 out of 67 boxing pundits had him to lose

Pac could learn a thing or two from hearing this imo
