Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: My Style is To Kick Peterson's Butt

The second installment of Premier Boxing Champions on NBC (8:30 pm ET/5:30 p.m. PT) is getting closer, with undefeated superstar Danny "Swift" Garcia gearing up for his showdown with fellow world champion Lamont Peterson on Saturday, April 11 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The two junior welterweight champions will collide at a catch-weight.

They have two common opponents - Amir Khan and Lucas Matthysse. Garcia knocked out Khan in four rounds and won a unanimous decision over Matthysse. Peterson won a controversial twelve round split decision over Khan and was knocked out by Matthysse in three rounds.

Why is Peterson getting a shot at Garcia in the first place? Hasn't done anything since getting KO'ed by Mathysse.

Well, If Peterson does good against Garcia, i want to see a Mathysse rematch.

Looks like you become champ to go on vacation.

The IBF belt wasn't on the line against Lucas. He ended up keeping it. He did defend it since then, so not coming off a loss.

        Still, what has Peterson done?...nothing.

This could be a waste of everyone's time, again. Would like to see him against someone with good speed or power.

I'll catch this fight on a replay.

Like Manny Steward said, Danny isn't great at anything, but he's good at everything. And he's tough. Mattysse flat out kicked Peterson's butt because Peterson wasn't tough enough to deal with Mattysse's steamroller tactics. I get the idea that's what will happen Saturday. Not imagining Danny getting outclassed on this one.

It will be a waste of time, you will see that Lamont doesn't belong in the same ring as Danny. But, like the sucker I am, I will still watch.
